Chancellery Building, Willy-Brandt-Strasse 1, Berlin

On occasion of the so-called “Normandy Format” meeting in Berlin this Wednesday, the Society for Threatened Peoples (STP) is calling for a vigil – on behalf of the victims – to draw attention to the crimes against humanity and the serious human rights violations in Syria, in eastern Ukraine, and the annexed Crimean peninsula. Together with Crimean Tatars, Ukrainians, and Syrians, as well as their supporters, the human rights organization will demand Russian President Vladimir Putin to stop the bombing of the civilian population of Aleppo and to put an end to the war in eastern Ukraine. Further, the Crimean Tatars in Crimea must finally be granted citizenship and human rights. The STP will also emphasize that the minority groups in Syria must be protected from radical Islamists.
