Aide-Mémoires from Forum Menschenrechte

Human rights analyses and recommendations to the German federal government

The member organizations of Forum Menschenrechte (FMR), which include the Society for Threatened Peoples (STP), have produced 90 aide-mémoires this year containing human rights analyses of countries and issues, as well as recommendations to the German federal government. The aide-mémoires are addressed to politicians and relevant institutions and organizations that are committed to human rights. The Forum Menschenrechte, the umbrella organization of German human rights organizations, presented the aide-mémoires to Federal Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul on November 18 during a meeting.

The aide-mémoires provide information on the current human rights situation in a total of 50 countries and give an overview of 40 cross-cutting issues of human rights significance. At the end of each contribution, interested readers will find an overview of the solutions and demands recommended by leading human rights organizations in Germany for specific conflicts. The STP has again written many aide-mémoires this year and contributed to the creation of further aide-mémoires.

The Forum Menschenrechte is a network of over 50 German non-governmental organizations that campaign for human rights in Germany and worldwide. The FMR was founded in 1994 following the World Conference on Human Rights in Vienna.

The member organizations, with their themes, priorities, and positions, reflect the broad spectrum of human rights work in Germany. Our cooperation is based on our common statutes and the principle of diversity. Forum Menschenrechte is financed exclusively by the contributions of its member organizations.
