Invitation to a press conference held by the Society for Threatened Peoples (STP) on September 11 in Berlin
Members of the Druze community report on the situation in Syria
According to the Society for Threatened Peoples (STP), members of minority groups in Syria continue to be attacked on a daily basis. At a press conference, STP Middle East expert Dr. Kamal Sido, together with members of the Druze community from al-Suwaida, will report on the devastating situation in Syria, make demands on German politicians, and explain the background.
The press conference will take place following a meeting with Member of Parliament Johannes Volkmann (CDU). The STP and members of the Druze minority will present him with an appeal to the Foreign Affairs Committee and the Committee on Development and Cooperation, of which Volkmann is a member. Among other things, the appeal calls for greater efforts to end the humanitarian blockade of al-Suwaida and for humanitarian border crossings to Jordan and Israel.
