The Society for Threatened Peoples (STP) mourns for Rupert Neudeck, member of the advisory board. “We have lost an irreplaceable adviser and supporter, who endorsed our human rights work with great enthusiasm,” said Tilman Zülch, the STP’s Secretary General, in Göttingen on Tuesday.

“Neudeck encouraged us when we were about to lose our vigor when faced with horrible crimes such as genocide, massacres and expulsions. He provided support and backed us up in our conviction not to compromise when lives are at stake and if endangered minorities need protection – and we also developed unconventional ideas together. He approved of fast and unbureaucratic help, and he was quick to help surviving victims of especially severe crisis situations such as in Bosnia, Afghanistan or Syria. We will miss his advice, his unerring eye for the essentials and his stirring commitment for people in need.”
