„The Assyro-Chaldaean Christians in southern and central Iraq are confronted with the systematic terror of expulsion, they are victims of targeted assassination attempts, dragged away, tortured and murdered. There is nobody to protect them, decimated between the front lines of the civil war between the Islamist groups which are at war with each other”, explained the GfbV General Secretary, Tilman Zülch, his demand in a letter to the ministers and senators. „Kosovo will explode if the land is not given its independence, which is clear to everyone who knows the Balkans, and the first to suffer will be the last remaining Roma and Ashkali and members of the Serb minority.” The depth of nationalist hatred against the minorities is shown by the mass expulsion of 80% of the Roma and Ashkali under the eyes of the Nato troops occupying the country and the pogroms against these minorities in March 2004. In 1999 Roma and Ashkali were victims of many cases of rape, deportation, mishandling and murder.
