Adivasi-Koordination in Germany

…is a network of NGOs engaged in human rights and development work. Since its in inception in 1993 – the International Year of the Indigenous Peoples – the main thrust of Adivasi-Koordination’s activity has been:

  • to support the Adivasi in their struggle for survival and for their human rights (e.g. participation in protest campaigns);
  • to document recent developments in the political, social and cultural context, with special focus on human rights violations;
  • to provide information to a wider audience through publications, seminars and other means;
  • to support Adivasi delegates in their contacts with funding agencies, governments and international organisations;
  • to be in dialouge with Adivasi organisations and supporters in India.

Other activities of Adivasi-Koordination are:

  • to publish an Adivasi Newsletter (in German, 2-3 issues per year);
  • to build up an archive of audio-visual media (tapes, slides, videos, films);
  • to build up a newspaper clippings archive & service.

Newspaper clippings service on Adivasi issues

Adivasi-Koordination in Germany is building up a newspaper clippings archive on Adivasi issues, in which newspaper reports and other texts from national and regional daily newspapers, magazines, other periodicals and brochures of a variety of organisations in India will be available beginning with the year 1990. These materials are roughly classified as follows:

  • publication date
  • source
  • headline
  • region
  • keyword on the event
  • file name (for texts already computerized).

The present brochure contains the lists of these materials. You are invited to share materials which you find missing in the lists. The lists and part of the texts are available on demand in computerised form (on floppy or through e-mail). You can also start a subscription in order to receive updates subsequently. Subscriptions and orders may be sent to the address given below:

  • Photocopies of the texts are to be paid per page plus mailing charges
  • transscripts are to be paid per word plus floppy plus mailing charges (e-mail possible)
